Yep, there will be fiction posted here soon. I promise. And I suspect D will travel the thousand or so miles to hunt me down in person if I don't. Or else she'll get in touch with some of the cast of characters physically closer to do it for her. Never underestimate the power of the D. (and I will now be ducking)

This is the story I wrote for NaNoWriMo 2009 and one of the few I reached an ending on. It's been read by a couple people in rough draft form. Now I'm going through those comments, waiting on others as well, and editing that draft. There are a few scenes I'm anxious to complete and post here for your entertainment.

Meet Maddy. She started out her adult life expecting to be a teacher and make a difference in teenagers' lives. That was until her childhood talent for seeing ghostly things came back to haunt her. Then this freaky thing happened that brought old legends and folklore creatures back into the 'real' world. Now she's not the oddest freak around so can she build a successful life in the chaos?

A couple computers ago I had what would have been one of my first manuscripts to get an actual ending. Then the hard drive crashed. A note to everyone... backup your work to multiple locations. In the years since I've made the occasional stab at recreating this series. Those are now being collected to tell the story of a history student, a medieval monk's journal, and legends waking up in a very different world.
